Osteopathy Treatment

Your first consultation will last 30 minutes. During this time, we will talk about your medical history and details to get a comprehensive understanding of your general health and current symptoms. This will also give us the information we need if a GP referral is necessary. Then we will examine the relevant joints and treatment is included in the first session. The treatment is not painful, only light pressures are used. It reduces inflammation, muscle spasms and provides pain relief. We most commonly use the following techniques:

• Soft tissue - light to firm pressure on relevant muscle tissues
• Articulation - gentle joint movements
• Manipulation - often accompanied by a clicking sound and will only be used if the patient is happy with this
