Osteopathy is a relatively gentle treatment which includes manual techniques such as stretching, manipulation and soft tissue techniques. Osteopathy aims to increase mobility, relieve tension and enhance blood supply to the affected area. It works to reduce the body's inflammatory responses and ultimately reduce pain. The treatment itself should not be painful. It may involve clicking if you are happy with this.

What happens during the initial consultation?

Your first consultation will last around 30 minutes. In your first appointment, we will discuss your medical history, symptoms and general health. This is necessary to determine whether a GP referral is necessary. Then all relevant joints and muscles will be examined and you will be treated.

The treatment aims to reduce muscle spasms, inflammation and provide pain relief. We use a range of the following techniques:

Manipulation -  If you are comfortable, you may hear and feel some clicking.

Articulation - A range of gentle joint movements.

Soft tissue - Light to firm pressure applied to relevant muscle tissues.

Your first consultation is just £49 (including treatment) and thereafter is £46 per treatment.
