Mark has been a qualified Osteopath in East Sussex for over 25 years. He is fully accredited by the Institute of Osteopathy and GosC which is the professional body which oversees Osteopathy in the UK. Osteopathy is a fairly gentle treatment which includes manual techniques such as manipulation, stretching and soft tissue. It aims to relieve tension, increase mobility and enhance blood supply to the affected area. This all works to reduce the body's inflammatory responses and reduce pain. Treatment should not be painful! It may involve some clicking but only if you are comfortable with this.

What can you expect from your first consultation?

Your initial consultation should last approximately 30 minutes. During this time we will discuss your medical history, symptoms and general health. From this information we can deduce whether a GP referral is necessary. Then all relevant joints will be examined and treatment is included.

Treatment aims to reduce inflammation, muscle spasms and provide pain relief. Our most commonly used techniques include:

Articulation - A series of gentle joint movements

Soft tissue - Applying light to firm pressure on relevant muscle tissues

Manipulation - This could be accompanied by a clicking sound and will only be used if the patient is comfortable

Your first consultation is just £49 (including treatment) and thereafter is £46 per treatment.
