Mark Walsh has over 25 years of experience in osteopathy. He is fully accredited by the General Osteopathic Council (GosC) and the Institute of Osteopathy. Osteopathy is a gentle treatment which includes manual techniques like stretching, manipulation and soft tissue techniques. It aims to relieve tension, increase mobility and enhance blood supply. It reduces the body's inflammatory responses and reduce pain. Treatment is not usually painful.

What does the first consultation involve?

Your first consultation will last approximately 30 minutes. We will discuss your symptoms, general health and symptoms. This will determine whether a GP referral is necessary. Then we will examine and treat all relevant joints and muscles. The treatment aims to reduce inflammation and muscle spasms, providing significant pain relief. We use the following techniques:

Manipulation -  If you are comfortable with this, you may hear and feel some clicking.

Articulation - A range of gentle joint movements.

Soft tissue - Light to firm pressure applied to relevant muscles.
