Osteopathy is a natural form of relief for muscle pain. It works by increasing blood flow, improving elasticity and therefore relieves pain within the muscles and joints.

Osteopathy Treatment

Mark Walsh, our Osteopath, has over 25 years of experience in the industry. He is accredited by the General Osteopathic Council (GosC) and the Institute of Osteopathy. We use various manual techniques to achieve effective pain relief including manipulation, soft tissue techniques and stretching. This aims to increase mobility, increase blood supply and relieve tension. This then reduces the body's inflammatory response and reduces pain. The treatment itself should not be painful and will provide effective relief.

What Treatment Involves

Your initial consultation will last 30 minutes, and will include discussing your general health and your symptoms. We will determine whether a GP referral would be more appropriate. We will examine and treat all relevant joints and muscles within the initial appointment. This treatment reduces muscle spasms and inflammation in order to provide significant pain relief. We use the following techniques:

• Articulation - Gentle joint movements to improve flexibility

• Soft tissue - Light to firm pressure applied

• Manipulation - Often accompanies with a clicking sound. This will only be carried out if you are comfortable.
