Our Osteopath at our clinic is Mark Walsh - who has had over 25 years of experience in osteopathy. He is a member of The General Osteopathic Council and The Institute of Osteopathy. Osteopathy relieves tension, increases mobility and increases blood supply to the muscle. It is a gentle treatment which used manual techniques such as manipulation, stretching and soft tissue techniques to reduce the body's inflammatory responses and therefore reduce pain.

Effective Treatment from the first consultation

An initial consultation lasts around 30 minutes and includes treatment. Firstly, we will discuss your symptoms and your general health. This will help us determine if a GP referral is necessary. We will then examine and treat all relevant joints and muscles. The treatment aims to reduce any inflammation and muscle spasms which provides natural pain relief. We will use the following techniques:

• Articulation - These are gentle joint movements.
• Manipulation - You may hear and feel some clicks during this - only if you are comfortable!
• Soft tissue - Light to firm pressure applied to the muscles.

If you have never tried osteopathy and pain killers are no longer providing effective relief - please get in touch to book in a consultation. Any follow up appointments usually last between 20 - 30 minutes.
